Coast Episcopal adopted
Representatives from San Carlos, Calif., made donations Wednesday to Coast Episcopal School, the first place to receive funds from the city since it adopted Pass Christian in September.
Members of community, civic and business groups have developed plans and raised money to help Pass Christian rebuild.
"Our school is honored to have been chosen to receive this generous gift," said Rev. Paul Stephens, Head of School at Coast Episcopal.
The donation was made during the school's morning chapel service.
Thank You, San Carlos, California
The City of San Carlos, CA, formally adopted Pass Christian in September and immediately, the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce adopted the Chamber of Pass Christian through the US Chamber of Commerce. Since that adoption, our residents have collected and donated $20,000 ($12,000 to Coast Episcopal School and $8,000 to Camp Katrina Relief Fund, more to come), sent a team of four volunteers to work there and talk about future plans for the adoption, and shipped new blankets, toys and 22 cases of new children’s books for kids after a request from Pass.
We are now collecting gift cards from Walgreen’s, Old Navy and Home Depot to send there as Valentines. We have several more teams of volunteers organizing for trips in February, April and June.
